West Coast Challenge LIX (59) was held at the Town & Country Hotel. There was a lot of great pool shooting with a few upsets. San Diego had the pleasure of welcoming Pat Lowery into the West Coast Challenge Hall-of-Fame. And a congratulations goes out to the city of Long Beach. They swept 1st place in each of the four categories. They faced tough battlles and truly earned their place as West Coast Challenge champions.
The remainder of this page contains an acknowledgement to Pat Lower along with the results of WCC LIX. Don't forget to check out the Hall-of-Fame link to the right.
Photos of the event will be trickling in and will be posted on the PHOTOs page.

This season the SDPL is proud to announce that Pat Lowery is to be inducted into the WCC Hall-of-Fame. Pat has been an active member of the San Diego Pool League since 1987. Pat has volunteered and contributed many long hours to the San Diego Pool League as past President, Treasurer and Head Referee. As a Board Member, she brings a level of dedication and hard work which our members have appreciated. She also has an exemplary SDPL performance record placing in many league events, such as Women’s Open, Open Individuals, and Tops and Bottoms, and has qualified for a place at many West Coast Challenge events. She has played once in the Open Individuals and Hi-Lo events, 14 times in the Women’s event, taking home a 3rd place finish and 4th place twice. She is a tough competitor but always plays with good sportsmanship.

"This special recognition was established in the WCC's twenty-fifth year. It is our way of recognizing the 'glue' that holds it all together. Anyone looking at us from the outside would conclude these people must be playing for a lot of money or worldwide fame. Why else would this event last so long?
It consumes a great deal of each cities time and resources. The answer is here on this page. Friendship, sportsmanship, and the love of the game have kept it together. Each city has contributed its own leadership and "super" players who have returned again and again.
We see each other twice a year and re-new our friendships. Additionally, we see new faces and potential new additions to these pages. One can only hope that this event continues so that we can create a program which reads... 'West Coast Challenge C!' (our 100th season!)"
